Grilled Chicken – Juicy, Crispy, and Full of Flavor

Discover the perfect recipe for grilled chicken – crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Perfect for summer grilling or baking in the oven!
When it comes to a simple yet impressive dish, grilled chicken tops the list. With the right marinade and grilling technique, you’ll achieve chicken that’s delightfully crispy on the outside and wonderfully juicy on the inside.
Ingredients for the Perfect Grilled Chicken
- 1 whole chicken (about 1.5 kg)
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs (e.g., parsley or rosemary) for garnish
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, mix the olive oil, lemon juice, chopped garlic, paprika, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper. Rub the marinade thoroughly on the inside and outside of the chicken. Let it marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours (overnight is best). - Prepare the Grill or Oven
- Grill: Preheat the grill to medium heat and grill the chicken indirectly (not directly over the flame) so it cooks slowly and evenly. Place the chicken breast-side down on the grill.
- Oven: Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F) and place the chicken in an oven-safe dish. Bake at fan setting for about 60-75 minutes until it is golden brown and fully cooked through.
- Grill or Bake the Chicken
Grill or bake the chicken for about 60-75 minutes, turning it every 20 minutes to ensure it gets crispy on all sides. When the skin is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches about 75°C (167°F), the chicken is done. - Serve
Remove the chicken from the grill or oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving. Serve with fresh herbs and your favorite side dishes, such as grilled vegetables, potato salad, or bread.
Tip: Storing Grilled Chicken
If there are any leftovers, you can easily use the chicken for sandwiches, salads, or wraps. It will stay fresh in the fridge for up to 3 days.
